Tech Mahindra Wants to Mitigate Spam Calls in India with Blockchain

Tech Mahindra Ltd, the IT major, on Thursday, announced the deployment of a cutting-edge solution that leverages blockchain technology aimed at mitigating spam calls for the telecom sector in India, which is impacting over 300 million mobile subscribers within the country.

As indicated by a press release from the company here, Tech Mahindra, in 2018, designed the blockchain solution, by constituting more than 25% of the Indian market share, in compliance with the TRAI’s regulations and guidelines for enabling Telecom providers to prevent unauthorised access of their subscribers’ data.

Rajesh Dhuddu, the Global Practice Leader of Blockchain at Tech Mahindra, said –

“The new-age technology is a focus for corporates and government alike, and is expected to be a trillion-dollar market by 2030.”

He said –

“With the concerted and coordinated efforts by the Indian government and the industry backed by appropriate regulation, India can continue to sustain and enhance its leadership position in blockchain technology.”

For example, Tech Mahindra, in the Financial Sector, has designed a solution for one amongst India’s largest public sector banks to offer a permanent record of audit transactions and help a single view of transaction information from various systems on the blockchain.
