New Website Promises To Reveal Satoshi’s Identity in 10 Days: Gimmick or True?

After years of deliberation on why Satoshi Nakamoto decided to remain anonymous and who he really is, it seems we are finally set to know more about him! Or at least that is what a newly active website would have us believe. After we have learnt to be incredulous of all the “Faketoshi”s around, are we finally going to have our curiosity quenched?

We really can’t tell yet, but according to this website called gotsatoshi.com, it seems that the crypto world will soon come to know of Satoshi’s true identity, in just about ten days. A timer up on the site shows that the great reveal will occur on the 14th of May this year itself. With just 10 days to go, is this true or simply a marketing gimmick meant to create buzz? Most industry insiders believe that it is the latter.

In any case, the website gotsatoshi, seems to have successfully garnered the attention it wanted. Yet, it is not clear if they are planning to reveal the person behind the creation of pioneering cryptocurrency or if they are planning to reveal some new product or currency from their own side, adopting the Satoshi name in the process. As per the information available to us, it seems that this website domain name was registered all the way back in March 2017 but it has caught people’s attention only now that it has started out on this PR campaign.

In the past years, many people have claimed to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto, including Bitcoin SV propagator Craig Wright. Gotsatoshi has taken care to point out in its Twitter bio that it is not in any affiliated to the deeply controversial “Faketoshi” Craig Wright. So is it a new Satoshi contender or just another marketing strategy? Only time will tell.
