Malta AI & Blockchain Summit

Malta AI & Blockchain Summit 2019: A Brief Review of the Event

The Blockchain & AI Nation, in 2019, is moving beyond the hype as compared to the previous year when Malta cemented itself as The Blockchain Island by launching 3 bills amid the summit.

Now, the Maltese Government will enact a world first: a fourth bill, by giving a DAO its own legal personality. Additionally, a task force is also working day and night on a set of incentives that will support businesses in AI.

It was a jam-packed first day. The spring edition of the Malta AI and Blockchain Summit opened its doors to an astonishing 5,500 delegates that surpassed all expectations just in one day. The myriad of excellent workshops and conferences could be seen lining up throughout the day, beginning conversations that echoed across the expo floor.

The highlights of the summit included the likes of Ben Goertzel on the changing job market, Larry Sanger on the significance of owning your own data, Roger Ver on economic freedom and Bobby Lee on the power of the Bitcoin.

There was, even more, today at the expo floor buzzing with energy and plenty of business opportunities in the making.

The winning start-up project was congratulated by the summit. Pynk.io, following a gripping pitch, the world’s first People-Powered Investment platform, was worn the crown at the AI Start-up Pitch.

The AI & Blockchain Awards rounded off the evening, congratulations to G8C, Holochain, bitcoin.com, Artsquare, Europechain, Navigato, Solarcoin and crypto briefing. Various donated artworks raised a particular amount of money for several worthy charities at the time when they were auctioned off at the end of the evening, with bidders like Brock Pierce.
