The Blockchain ecosystem is gaining momentum with every passing day. News about further development and testimony of the technology are afloat on an almost daily basis. Our news today comes to us from the French department of IT mammoth, IBM that is looking forward to hiring 2000 employees for development of Blockchain technology. This news was confirmed by the company’s chief executive, Virginia Rometty on Wednesday, May 23.
Roomette opened up to the French news organisation, Le Monde about their expansion and development of projects pertaining to Blockchain technology. Although no conclusive comments could be received form Rometty regarding what projects these researches and hiring may be related to, she did mention that the company has ongoing projects with Orange Bank, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH), Crédit Mutuel, France’s national railway system and Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE.
This news comes as the latest activity by IBM regarding its expansion in the Blockchain research. Only recently, at the Consensus 2018 conference, the company disclosed the news about its alliance with Veridium Labs, and environmental technology startup. The focus of this alliance is towards creating a carbon credit token on the Stellar network.
Off late, IBM has also been trying to take on other complications in the ecosystem like humanitarian aid, business registries, insurance and advertising.
