Coinbase has announced today that it has added support for Dogecoin among the several other coins to Coinbase wallet. Announcing this latest support today, Coinbase said that users can now directly store their digital assets on the Coinbase Wallet application.
The service is available to both Android and iOS users with the Coinbase wallet mobile app. For Dogecoin users don’t have the Coinbase wallet, the app can easily be installed from Apple App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android users. The wallet supports DOGE Testnet as a perk for developers by using the wallet and for the power users.
Coinbase already supports various cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, BCH, ETC, XRP, XLM, and over 100,000 different ERC20 tokens as well as ERC721 collectables built on Ethereum.
The goal is to add support for as many digital currencies as possible and make purchases, storage and cryptocurrency transfers as seamless and secure as possible. Adding support for Dogecoin is just another step towards achieving this goal.
More assets have to be added as and when time goes on and as Coinbase users suggest as most supported digital assets were added depending on users’ recommendations.
Besides being a wallet, Coinbase is one of the top cryptocurrency exchanges in the world of cryptocurrency. It is dedicatedly engaged in promoting knowledge about cryptocurrencies in a way no other exchange does.
Coinbase’s ‘Learn and Earn’ program has brought thousands of people to learn about digital currencies while paying them with the same cryptocurrency as an incentive to encourage learning, mainly in the United States.
Dogecoin is a tipping coin that is mainly used on social media and websites to reward content creators and authors. It was first designed to reach a broader user-base to add a little fun to the cryptocurrency technology idea.
Currently, it’s the 27th largest cryptocurrency with the total market cap of $302 million. Hopefully, the addition of Dogecoin on Coinbase wallet will broaden its user base for including the millions of Coinbase wallet users globally.
